Last week, the New Yorker featured a long piece on the impact of automation on jobs and the workforce. The question at the center of the story was familiar: Are Robots Competing for Your Job?
Cluster CEO, Kim Taylor, gave her take in The Weekly 5 from Industrial Exchange:"I would hate for the truth to get in the way of a good story but robots will not be taking all the jobs. Automation will redefine and expand work. It will make it more interesting, especially in the industrial sector. We're at the peak of the "robots taking all the jobs" hype cycle. The rate of obsolescence of skills is accelerating, a more pragmatic approach to underemployment in America would be to make ongoing and consistent training part of our DNA."
